Dajti National Park is located 26 km east of Tirana. It occupies an area of 3,300 ha of the Dajti plateau. This park attracts many visitors and is a suitable place for family picnics, sports, games and other interesting activities. Dajti Park has a rich flora and fauna. Dense vegetation makes it one of the greenest areas in the country. The park is known for its forests where there are three layers of plants: the Mediterranean shrub with two sub-layers: the oak (evergreen plants such as heather, mareja, etc.) and the gorse, the oaks and the beech layer. Dajti Forest is considered untouched by man and as such has great scientific and ecological values. The fauna of Dajt Park is also quite rich, consisting of eight types of mammals: bear, wolf, rabbit, hedgehog, otters, several types of bats, squirrels, etc., from 11 types of birds: 3 types of eagles, petrites, buzzards, four species of woodpeckers, the mountain partridge, of seven species of reptiles, four species of amphibians, etc. This protected area is one of the most populated national parks in Albania. The park has great sports values with opportunities for mountaineering on the big rocky slopes, for marches in the park, for practicing the sport of skiing at the height of the Cershia pass, etc. Its special touristic values are related to the healthy climate, clean air, dense forest, relief forms, wonderful landscapes that unfold from its heights such as Tirana, the field of Lower Erzen, Durrës and the Adriatic Sea. You can go to Dajti mountain by following the road or by cable car.
