FISHTA VILLAGE

Fishta is part of Zadrima, which is rich in history and culture. Efforts to protect culture, language and faith were raised to a higher level with the holding of several assemblies in this area. The songs of Zadrima are an important part of folklore music and also the customs and colorful traditional clothes are a wealth in itself for Albanian ethnography. Fishta is a village in the Administrative Unit of Blinishti selected as a tourist village. The great poet Father Gjergj Fishta, the symbol of Albanian literature for the poem Lahuta e Malcis, was born in this village.  It is located northwest of the city of Lezha and is an important agrotourism area with a number of slow food restaurants.
