The Historical Museum is located in the center of the city of Fier and was inaugurated on July 18, 1978. Conceived as a two-story building, a number of well-known names in archeology and Albanian history worked in its construction, such as Neritan Ceka, Paskal Milo, Myzafer Korkuti, Frederik Stamati, etc.. As one of the most important museum institutions in Fier County, it contains a rich fund of material objects, artefacts and works of art, where history, ethnography and folk culture are represented. In its halls and pavilions, according to chronological order, all periods of the development of local history are presented, starting from prehistory, continuing with antiquity, the Middle Ages, the national renaissance, independence, the anti-fascist national liberation war, socialism, ethnoculture and iconography.
