The Iljaz Bey Mihrahori Mosque was built in 1494 (according to E. Vlora in 1465) by Iljaz Bey Mirahori in his waqf, this is an indication of the first waqf in Albanian lands. It is the first dome mosque built in Albania. The mosque was built on the foundations of the old church of Shënapremte. Together with a number of buildings around it, such as the imaret, baths, ovens, etc., the Mirahor Mosque formed an urban center near the city market in the Middle Ages. It consists of the prayer hall of large dimensions, covered with a dome on the tambour, which is preceded by the hall opened by an arcade with pointed arches on massive supports, covered with three small domes. At the northwest end of the hall stood the minaret. It received the status of a cultural monument in 1948. This monument is of the “Architecture” type, approved with number “586 and 4874” on “17.03.1948, 23.09.
