The fortress of Kruja occupied one of the most important places in the history of Albania during the period of Skanderbeg, who raised there for the first time the flag with the double-headed eagle on November 28, 1443. For 25 years the flag flew proudly in Kruja, during a period of wars successful which, even though they ended with the death of the hero, still inspired the Albanian nation’s struggle for independence for centuries.
