The National Art Gallery is a monument of cultural heritage located in Tirana on the Boulevard “Deshmoret e Kombit ”, This monument is of the “Architecture” type, adopted with the number “122 on 05.03.2007″. It was opened in 1946 with exposure surface about 5300 m². There are several exhibition halls such as that of Renaissance Art, Byzantine Art, the Graphics Hall and that of the snow works after the 50s. About 4,100 works of art of Albanian and foreign authors are preserved in the Art Gallery, which include a period of time that begins from the 13th century, it continues to this day. There is also the first Albanian bust, which is the bust of Skanderbe, worked in 1908 by Murat Toptani. Since 1999 a library of the Gallery can be used by public where various albums, magazines, critics and literature on figurative arts can be exploited. Today, about 4,000 works are preserved in the National Art Gallery today. The National Art Gallery was founded in 1954, and was transferred to the Boulevard \”Witnesses of the Nation\” in 1974.
