PAZARI I RI

“Pazari i ri” came to life in 1931 and in the years that followed saw only growth and development. It was created as a need to increase the commercial activity which could not be coped with only the Old Bazaar. After the demolition of the Old Market in 1959, it remained for a long time the only, large trade center for meat, fish, vegetables and fruits in Tirana. This bazaar is located in that area of Tirana, which together with the Mujo neighborhood represents one of the oldest areas of the city. Even today, “Pazari Ri” continues to remain one of the largest markets for the sale of meat, fish, vegetables and fruits in the capital. The Municipality of Tirana with the support of the Albanian-American Enterprise Foundation re-dimensioned this area and turned it into a business development area to offer a new model of investment and community space. “Pazari i ri” is a space that operates 24 hours, where in the morning the biggest focus is on the trading of products and in the afternoon on culinary issues, for restaurants around and the development of artistic-cultural activities such as parties, fairs, etc.
