Skanderbeg monument is a monument in Skanderbeg square which has been considered for more than 50 years as the center of Tirana. This monument commemorates Skenderbeu, a nobleman of the 15th century, who is the Albanian national hero for the resistance against the Ottomans. He is our King Arthur or William Tell. The sculpture was created by the artist Odise Paskali. The monument is 11 meters high and was inaugurated in 1968 on the 500th anniversary of Skanderbeg’s death.
