The ancient city is located on the side of the mountain of Vila, which is the last highest peak of the Krraba mountain chain (590 m high). Its strategic position made it possible to control a wide territory and the roads that passed through these vices. Referring to the periodization of the fortifications of Southern Illyria and Epirus, from an architectural point of view, Persqop belongs to the period that includes the second half of the 4th century BC. This is the only fragment of the fortification wall, the highest conserved in the entire territory of Albania, with a length of about 60m and a height of 7m with 10 rows of stones. The entrance is transverse, with a width of about 2.6 m. The walls were built with two walls of square stone blocks. In addition to the ancient walls, in Persqop there are also many traces of dwellings, as well as the traces of a grave and an aqueduct that was supplied with water from Mount Vila.
