The house of the Painter “Sali Shijaku” is located in Tirana on “Siri Kodra” street. It is an old house with typical Tirana architecture. Its construction dates back to 1400. The house serves as a traditional restaurant as well as an art gallery where 100 paintings are exhibited. It is considered the oldest house in the Balkans. Before the year 350, the house of the painter “Sali Shijaku” was a Turkish hospital. The wood in that house was called traur and was painted with gasoline or oil. Otherwise, this house is called a cultural monument. On the first floor there was a waiting room where various activities took place near the fireplace and the place was full of rare and special paintings. On the second floor there were rooms only for sleeping but also the place was full of paintings and portraits. Many objects in that house they were called oriental motifs. In that place there was an old chest with dark paintings where the bride’s dowry was placed.
