The Zekate House is an example of the typical tower houses of the richest families of Gjirokastra in the 19th century. It is the home of Beqir Zeko, a senior general of Ali Pasha. His house was built in 1811-1812. This house was a gift from Ali Pasha to Beqir Zeko, for his merits and loyalty. The 3-storey house has very obvious protective features, which have helped it to withstand and be so powerful to this day.
